Prior to rejoining Stryker Weiner & Yokota Public Relations, Inc. (SWAY), Sonja was the public relations manager of Hilton Resorts Hawaii, responsible for Hilton’s three Hawaii resorts: Hilton Hawaiian Village, Hilton Turtle Bay Golf and Tennis Resort and Hilton Waikoloa Village. Her history with SWAY began in 1994 where she serviced the firm’s travel and promotions accounts for four years.

Sonja currently serves on the board of HUGS (Help, Understanding and Group Support). She has also served on the boards of Manoa Valley Theatre, Hawaii Literacy and The Good Beginnings Alliance and the committees for Public Relations Society of America – Hawaii Chapter and Aloha United Way.

Sonja received a bachelor of arts degree in communication from the University of North Florida and is a graduate of James Campbell High School.
